Recently, a trial for the transportation of the strategic area of Bali’s national tourism and electric buses has been launched. National tourism strategic area transportation is specifically aimed at tourists while electric buses show the commitment of the Bali provincial government to create a clean Bali with clean or environmentally friendly energy.
Both of them can be a tourist attraction for Bali and for tourists on the island of the gods. “This is good, first of all the world trend is towards clean energy or renewable energy. Bali is starting to do that,” said Deputy Governor of Bali who is also chairman of PHRI Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati in Denpasar.
According to the man who is familiarly called Cok Ace, the use of environmentally friendly public transportation will be a very powerful promotional tool for Bali. Especially after the trial is complete and Bali actually uses it, it will become an extraordinary attraction for tourists. Head of the Bali Provincial Transportation Agency I Gede Wayan Samsi Gunarta said transportation for the national tourism strategic area for tourism trajectories is like a limousine bus. Buses that are prepared to serve routes from I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport go directly to tourist sites but have stopping points at hotels. “The stopping point is in hotels that cooperate with the national tourism strategic area transportation,” he explained.
Samsi added, at hotels it is intended that there are transportation bases that will help tourists last mile.
Chairman of Commission III DPRD Bali A.A Ngurah Adhi Ardhana said the implementation of the Bali Clean and Green program has made great progress with the introduction of electric buses or electric transportation means, especially in the city of Denpasar. Moreover, electric buses are also very much in line with the vision of “Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali.” From an environmental perspective, electric vehicles certainly reduce pollution due to the use of fossil fuels in motorized vehicles. “Apart from reducing pollution on the bus itself, electric buses also have the potential to indirectly reduce the use of motorized vehicles for bus users,” he said.
Adi Ardhana added, environmental activists must actively invite and use electric buses as an implementation of the ideals that have been combined so far. If packaged properly, the impact on the world of tourism will be enormous. International tourists will definitely pay attention to this issue when considering a destination. “Let’s be enthusiastic in advancing Bali and especially the city of Denpasar as a pilot city to become a developed city,” added the politician.
