Balinese Pétanque Athlete Won Second at The World Championship

Balinese Pétanque athlete, I Kadek Alpida Arta won the Offline Pétanque World Championship 2020 in the second position at the race number Parthian shooting senior female. The championship is centered in France, as the country of origin of the Pétanque sport. On the same number, Balinese athlete, Bali Luh Abdi Julia Lestari came out in the fourth position.

While, another Balinese athlete I Made Khrisna Dwipayana succeed to rank third at the race number Parthian shooting senior male as well as fourth position at the standard number shooting senior male.

Other Balinese athlete, Ni Putu Swara Dewi also succeed to rank fourth at the standard number shooting senior female.

“We are proud with Indonesian athlete to be able to achieve such achievement in World Championship and raised the Indonesian red and white flag,” said one of the athlete.

The Offline Pétanque World Championship 2020 is intentionally being hold in the midst of Covid-19 Pandemic. The goal is to promote sports as well as tourism (sport tourism). Therefore, the shooting location with tourism object in Tabanan, such as Ulun Danu Bedugul and Tanah Lot are chosen.

Yamadhiputra explained that he and his team keep trying to promote pétanque. One of the way is to host the tournament.
