A fallen tree accident occurred in Pengulon Village, Gerokgak, Buleleng, Wednesday (9/9) at around 5 am local time. A fallen tree hit a passing minibus.
As a result, the minibus driver, Made Oka (30) died. He was caught in a car body that was hit by a tree.
The Denpasar Search and Relief Office (Basarnas Bali) received a report approximately one hour after the incident. “We got a report from Bhabinkamtibnas Gerokgak Police at 05.55 am, about 55 minutes from the incident and immediately responded by sending 5 personnel,” explained the Head of Basarnas Bali Office, Gede Darmada.
Darmada said, the evacuation process was carried out using an extraction tool because the victim was badly pinched. To be able to remove the victim, the joint SAR team cut a part of the tree that has a large enough diameter. After that, efforts were made to remove the victim’s body from the crush of the car body.
The evacuation process takes about 45 minutes. “At 0.05 am local time the victim was evacuated dead,” he said. Then the body was taken to Puskesmas I Gerokgak.
