If you are a cyclist based in Bali, now you can start your cycling sport activities on the newly opened bike lane in Denpasar.
The city government of Denpasar decided to establish a 25-kilometre bike lane to encourage cycling exercises amid the pandemic.
“This cycling route is also combined with public transportation route such as Transe Metro Dewata,” according to Head of the Denpasar City Transportation Office, I Ketut Sriawan.
During this epidemic period, the car-free day can not be opened for public and Ketut expecting that this new route will help people to be more active and physically active.
I Ketut Sriawan said, the 25-kilometre bicycle lane is only the first phase of the project, the second phase will resume in 2021.
The route from the first phase of the project is from the Dharma Negara Alaya Building, to Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan Maruti, Jalan Sutomo, then last to Jalan Gajah Mada.
“We expect that other related OPDs will also support the opening of a bicycle lane that is integrated with this public transportation route so that it can give space for the community” Ketutu added.
