Gilimanuk-Denpasar Toll Road is Set to be Built

The plan to build Gilimanuk-Denpasar toll road 95 km long is set to be executed in 2021. The toll road construction with the end point at Mengwi, Badung will be done in three steps.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono and Bali Governor Wayan Koster observe the Gilimanuk-Denpasar toll road construction plan 

The first step will be started from Pekutatan, Jembrana until Soka, Tabanan 20 km long. Bali province government is ready to support in terms of land acquisition.

“Once the road profile is done, it will be completed with documents for land acquisition. First thing is initiator permission from third party to Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, only after that Bali Government will issue the permission to set the location,” said Bali Governor Wayan Koster on Thursday (6/8/2020).

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono stated, “the study has been executed. Now we need to evaluate the study, and I will issue the initiator permission following the study.”

Koster himself hopes that the tender process can be started in the upcoming October and done in December so that in early 2021 the first step of the construction can be started.

According to the plan; overall Gilimanuk-Denpasar toll road will be done early 2024 or depends on the land acquisition process.
