Especially those who have obtained a residence permit in a forced condition and are in Indonesian territory at most 5 times the extension.Since the enactment of the regulation of the minister of law and human rights of the Republic of Indonesia number 26 of 2020 concerning visas and residence permits during the New Habit adaptation period, foreign nationals who have extended their visit residence permit 5 times can be granted a new residence permit after obtaining visa or Telex visa approval.
According to the head of immigration facilities and communication for the class I office of Ngurah Rai Putu Suhendra, foreign nationals holding a visit residence permit originating from a visit-free visa cannot be extended but can be granted a new residence permit after obtaining visa approval (telex visa). He further said that the extension of the residence permit prior to the enactment of the regulation of the minister of law and human rights of the Republic of Indonesia number 26 of 2020 concerning visas and residence permits during the adaptation period of the New Habits, is not counted as an extension of the residence permit. “The period of extension of the visit stay permit is given a maximum of 30 days per extension,” he said on Thursday, November 12 yesterday.
He added, in the event that foreign nationals who hold a visit residence permit originating from a one-time visit visa and have extended a visit residence permit, the status of the visit residence permit can be changed to a limited stay permit.
