Thanks to the coordination of the Denpasar Police Resmob team and the Gilimanuk KP3 Sectoral Police, the motor vehicle thief gang was arrested on Sunday, November 29 yesterday. The perpetrators were Agus Sugianto, 32 years old and Wahyu Candra Aditya, who was only 21 years old. They are known to have stolen motorbikes in the Denpasar, Badung and Gianyar areas. The police were forced to shoot the perpetrator in the leg as he tried to escape when he was involved in a chase with the police.
Head of the Denpasar City Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Dewa Anom Danujaya, accompanied by the Head of the Human Resources Sub Division, Iptu Ketut Sukadi, today Tuesday December 1 said that initially there were reports of cases of motor vehicle theft in front of a shop located on Jalan Tukad Yeh Penet, Renon, South Denpasar. The case was reported by a 32-year-old man named Samsul.
The chronology happened, last Friday 27 November at 12.20PM local time the victim parked his motorbike at the place where the motorbike was lost to store the groceries. Because it was only briefly, the vehicle keys were still in the vehicle. The victim then went into the shop to put the groceries.
When the victim came out of the shop the perpetrator took the motorbike and run away. Then the victim reported to the Denpasar city police resort. “After receiving the report, we conducted an investigation,” said police commissioner Dewa Anom.
The City Resort Police Resmob Team led by the Head of Unit 1 Iptu Ngurah Eka Wisada conducted an investigation around the scene of the crime. After that the police received information that a motorbike had been sent to Java. Obtaining this information, members of Resmob team coordinated with the Police Sector KP3 Gilimanuk.
On last Sunday, at 3AM local time, the perpetrators were about to cross to Banyuwangi through Gilimanuk port. The police immediately arrested the perpetrators and secured them at the Sector Police. “Our (police) members immediately picked up the perpetrator to the Gilimanuk KP3 sector police to be brought to Denpasar,” said the former North Kuta Sector Police Chief.
On arrival in Denpasar, the perpetrators were invited to show the scene of the crime to carry out the scene of the incident replica, and at that time they tried to escape. The police then immediately shot the perpetrators on their legs.
When interrogated, the perpetrators admitted to having acted in six locations, once in Denpasar, twice in Darmasaba, Badung and three times in Ubud, Gianyar.
