During August 2020, there was a very significant movement in the number of passengers and aircraft movements compared to the record in July 2020. There was a hundred percent increase in passenger movements compared to before.
According to the General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Herry A.Y. Sikado, Tuesday (8/9), for 31 days in August 2020, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) as the manager of the Bali Island air gate recorded 174,462 passengers served via 2,385 airplanes. Meanwhile, in July 2020, there were 80,586 passengers and 1,381 aircraft movements served.
Thus, in August 2020 there was a growth of 116 percent for passenger movements. For aircraft movements, it reaches 73 percent. “From month to month, we recorded significant growth. On average, the average growth from May to August is 183 percent for passengers and 98 percent for aircraft movements,” he explained.
During January to the end of August 2020, Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali recorded that it had served as many as 5,045,479 passengers. These passengers were transported through 41,123 aircraft movements.
However, this number is still far from the statistical records for the same period in 2019.
