This is The Reason Why The Entry Requirements for Bali Air and Land Routes are Different

Perhaps there are still many people who do not understand why the entry requirements to Bali are different for domestic travelers who use air and land routes.

The Regional Secretary of the Province of Bali, Dewa Made Indra, who received this question, then explained the reason.

“This is a classic question. Because the differences in requirements between land, sea and air are nothing new. Not only in the Circular of the Governor of Bali Number 2021. This is following the policies of the Central Government, ”he explained, Thursday (17/12/2020).

According to Dewa Indra, the enforcement of the standard requirements for the COVID-19 health protocol for Domestic Travel Players who enter via air, land and sea routes is a policy of the Central Government based on certain considerations.

“The consideration is on economic capacity,” he said.

The government assumes that Domestic Travelers who travel by air have better economic capacity. Meanwhile, the West route domestic traveler is not certain. It can be seen at the Ketapang-Gilimanuk crossing that most of them are traders and all kinds of people. So if given the same conditions, it is almost the same as closing the door.

“So this is a humanitarian consideration, but it does not reduce prevention efforts,” he added.

For this reason, local governments will only follow national policies.

Dewa Indra said, the provincial government of Bali could relax the conditions at the entrance to Bali Island during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, if the policy is taken, the risk is an increase in the number of cases, morbidity and mortality.

“If we open it wide. So we also have to pay very dearly. COVID-19 cases will increase. The pain will increase. The death rate will increase. We just have to choose which one, “he said.
